A FEW GOOD STARTING POINTS
A NOTE IN THE MARGIN

For understanding.
With perspective.

The Peppy Lab is an educational media project. Our explanations help curious adults explore science and ask better questions.

Education, not personal medical advice

Our lessons, glossary, activities, and guided assistant provide general information. They do not diagnose conditions, recommend treatment, or replace advice from a licensed clinician who understands your circumstances.

We do not provide personalized dosing, injection instructions, treatment plans, product sourcing, or vendor recommendations. For decisions about your health or medicines, speak with an appropriately qualified professional.

Drawings simplify the science

Beads represent amino acids in our chain activity. Their colors and arrangement do not calculate a real molecular structure, therapeutic effect, or safety profile. The signaling activity illustrates one kind of messenger–receptor interaction; it does not describe every peptide or every cell response.

Peppy is our illustrated educational guide. His comments are curated explanations of site content, not clinical judgments or a live AI consultation.

Evidence has limits

A study’s findings depend on its methods, subjects, and context. Findings in cells or animals do not by themselves establish a benefit in people. A familiar biological mechanism does not establish that a compound is appropriate for a particular person.

Peptides include naturally occurring molecules, approved medicines, and compounds investigated in research. These are different contexts. A substance’s resemblance to something naturally produced by the body is not sufficient evidence of safety.

Sources and corrections

Published lessons link to their supporting sources. We aim to describe uncertainties openly and keep content requiring further review in draft. Dates are shown only when supplied; this site does not claim that every page has undergone external medical or legal review.

If a passage appears incorrect or unclear, send a correction request with the page link and, if available, a relevant source.

Use the notebook thoughtfully

Educational information can evolve. Read references in context and avoid treating a short explanation as a complete assessment of a medicine, research compound, or personal health decision.
